The proprietary StratiCELL Skin Knowledge DataBase (SSKDB) is a unique database that attributes more than 3.500 genes to specific functions and mechanisms of skin biology.
As a dynamic tool, it evolves along with the related scientific knowledge. A recent review of the literature has allowed us to add new groups of genes involved in lipid homeostasis and long-chain ceramides.
We were also able to split some clusters to increase the outcome of analysis. Thus, group of genes linked to similar mechanisms such as wound healing or cell renewal have been divided according to the different phases of these physiological processes, in order to gain even more in definition and interpretation of the results.
These improvements in the SSKDB reinforce its relevance to understand the gene expression profile induced by innovative dermo-cosmetic ingredients in combination to whole transcriptome analysis.
